2010 was an incredible year for us! We re-branded, launched a new website... I could probably write several paragraphs, but instead I think some point form highlights and some interesting statistics are a better way to go. We want to thank all our couples from the bottom of our hearts. We've been honoured to capture 25 amazing, unique and very special wedding stories this year and we are equally excited for the 2011 weddings and couples we have before us. We are blessed with the support of our family and closest friends and some amazing colleagues in the industry who push us to always push ourselves. Passion is what drives us to be the best storytellers we can be. We wish all our faithful blog readers and those who are just stopping by a very Happy, Healthy and Successful 2011.
Some 2010 Studio 67 "Did You Know" Statistics...
- Our very first 3-Day Hindu / Catholic wedding extravaganza produced an incredible SDE which melded together two distinctly beautiful cultures. The standing ovation we received at the reception following
Angela + Ravi's Same Day Edit left me breathless
- Our most watched Same Day Edit of the year was also our very first Same Sex Wedding (on a side note we are elated that these women are soon to be new parents)
Amy & Danielle's SDE was picked up and talked about by numerous LGBT websites world-wide
- Of our 25 wedding stories this year 5 of them were destination (see map below for all the amazing places we got to see this year). Yes, we choose to limit the number of weddings we capture to just 25 (a question we are asked a LOT) and yes, we still have a handful of spots open for 2011 :)
- The most talked about Same Day Edit of 2010 has to be Marta and Brock's. Affectionately referred to as
"Your SDE 'ABOUT' dogs". The SDE was actually about two people who happen to adore their two dogs and the poem "Falling in Love is Like Owning a Dog" was a perfect thread through this piece - the song Always Be was recorded and released early by our friend
Holley Maher to use for their SDE and now we eagerly await the official album release next month.
We also wanted to share some exciting news about 2 new ventures for us. Brian and Matthew Craggs launched their business called
Flux Studios where they create story-based promotional films. They have already done a few projects and have several lined up for 2011. The importance of businesses sharing their "message" with current and potential clients is so huge and their fresh approach to media/marketing videos is really catching on. I also launched my own website and business this year called
Lemon Love. I have always loved photographing pregnant bellies, newborns, children and families and this is a great new 'home' to showcase those photos. I have been blessed by many of our couples who have asked me to photograph the next milestone in their lives (starting their families) and in just 2 months since Lemon Love launched I've received many bookings and I hope the trend continues into 2011.
Here is a quick glance at where we've been in 2010. Our 5 Destination weddings and a couple of conferences we attended - networking and continuously learning and sharing with our colleagues is important to us. Happy New Year Everyone! Stay tuned to the blog for some exciting news in January including a wedding highlight reel you won't want to miss - it was another exciting 'first' for Studio 67!
