Mrs + Mrs Cook | A beautiful Celebration of Love!

I will never forget my very first contact with Amy.  She called me last September and was super excited to find out we were still available for her date. She then asked "are you okay with two dresses?" and I said "um..." (not quite sure what she meant) ... and she continued to say that the wedding she and her fiance were planning was in every way quite traditional except that they were both going to wear dresses.  "We're a same sex couple" she stated, "are you okay with that?" and of course I said "Yes!!! We do what we do because we love capturing and re-telling stories about love and commitment". The first evening I met with Amy and her fiance Danielle we sat and chatted for over 3 hours.  When we parted I felt like I'd known both of them for years.  In the nine months that have passed we've had the chance to spend a lot of time together and during their eFusion session Brian and I discovered how comfortable and in love these two amazing women are with each other.  We knew yesterday would be so much more than a typical wedding day... theirs was the very first same sex marriage at the Westminster Church in St. Catharines, that in itself was something to celebrate. The church was filled with hundreds of family members and friends who came to show their love and support; we've never witnessed such loud applause and cheering during a ceremony as we did when the minister proclaimed that they were officially married! We were so proud to be a part of Amy and Danielle's wedding day and to capture their wedding story and all the little mini stories of the day.  Their guests at White Oaks loved their Same Day Edit which the girls kept as a complete surprise from everyone.  We love it when couples get the chance to re-live their wedding day while surrounded by everyone they love at their reception.  We also want to thank these beautiful girls for choosing us - what an honour it was when they told us that their wedding gift to each other was hiring us to capture all their memories.  How lucky are we?  Angelica at Simply Beautiful Decor had the entire ballroom looking absolutely gorgeous!  Here are just a few of the photos and their SDE... enjoy!
